Going through the stuff!!!

Oh my goodness...thinking about this whole process of selling/giving all of our stuff didn't sound too difficult at first because I really didn't think we had much STUFF...but WOW...going through drawers, closets, bookshelves, etc., I am feeling differently now!  I went through this process about 1 year ago, getting rid of all our "junk" kind of stuff.  It's definitely a harder process now.  My collection of amazing children's books, art books, all of my health books...my boyd's bear figurines...Christmas things...gee whiz, what do I do with it all??  This is harder than I thought it would be.  What to box up and store and what to eliminate.  Our goal was to have very little to store by the time we leave in Sept.  STUFF.  It's really quite a concept isn't it??  How we get so attached to our things?  I'd like to say that I'm not a person who's attached to my things, but I'm seeing that I AM.  (Only certain things of course  :  )
The dictionary's meaning of STUFF: worthless things or matter: to clean the stuff out of a closet.
Worthless things or matter...hmmm... I see this is really a truth in light of Jesus and HIS true purpose for us on this earth.  Help me Father to know that these things are really just that...STUFF.  Help us to give these thing to those who are really needy Father so it can benefit them.  Haiti?  (If anyone knows of any organizations that are taking clothes, etc. please let me know)
Psalm 119:37 (New International Version) "Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word".
Ok. I'm feeling better and ready to get back to work!  Lord, thank you for breathing your Word into even the "small" things in my life.
Amen
Sue
