The following are words that Winston Churchill spoke as we he faced a determined enemy head on: "We must do better than our best. We must do whatever is required to win." These words are so appropriate for the battle that faces our generation of youth today! I believe the biggest problem for our teens today, even our churched teens, is that there are no absolutes. No strict right or wrong. Our nation was founded on christian principles, many of our founding fathers were godly men. But sadly that is no longer the case. In the desire to be a tolerant society, there are very few who will speak out when traditional biblical values are violated. Kids are afraid to speak out for fear of condemnation...
There is an enemy at work here and his name is satan and he is intent on taking our kids. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says, "And no wonder, for satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." In the case of our teens, he's disguised by the cool, the popular, the trendy themes the media tells us are the "cultural norms". He gets to them through all forms of media - music, tv, computers, etc. Here's a startling statistic - One in five children ages 10-17 who regularly use the internet have received sexual solicitations while on-line on a regular basis. Our kids at very young ages are hearing exactly what they should look like, act like, & be like in order to be "accepted." Satan is feeding them all the right stuff to be miserable. His goal, as always, is to keep us from our Heavenly Father. And he will do anything to accomplish this. This is WAR!
This is why God is calling us to be part of the "cure" for our youth. YWAM is an incredible organization that is founded on the principles of God & sending our youth out into the nations and helping God's people. They learn who God is and who they are through God! It not only help them grow, but gives them purpose! We are SO EXCITED to be a part of this amazing organization.
