Michael & I praising God for His Glory and Provision!!
Wow, what a trip! So many things to share with you all, my big trauma on the plane (geeeez!) and so much more, so let's get started....
Everything went so smooth up until a few days before we left...the enemy was working overtime trying to interfere with God's plan for us to get to Hawaii, BUT, we were armed and ready with God's Word to counteract it all. Every time something would come up, Michael and I would grab hands and pray, covering everything we needed to do with His Word.
First, let me share with you MY VICTORY!! My health issues really kicked in a few days before we left so by the time we were waiting in the airport, ready to board the plane, I was feeling a "bit panicky." Now for those who don't know me well, just leaving my home to go anywhere is hard for me. I have had pretty severe health issues all my life and it's caused me to be fearful about leaving my "safe place"... my home. And when I am feeling really sick with nausea, the last thing I want to do is be on a little capsule way up in the air, stuck in a corner with no way out!!! AHHHHHH! BUT, I just knew this was my big "stepping out of the boat with two feet" that I had to do in order to get victory over this lifetime of bondage. I got on the plane and felt OK, just keeping my focus on Jesus. After about 45 minutes of flight (the takeoff was amazing, I DO love to fly!!), we started watching a movie and next thing I hear is Michael yelling at me to wake up! I passed out and started going into a seizure! Argh! They had to ask if there was any medical personnel on the plane and the whole business! In the midst of all this, God provided an angel who was a physician's assistant - she was WONDERFUL. Just took charge and helped Michael to not panic as well. For some reason I couldn't come out of it very quickly and they were talking about having to land in San Francisco. They put me on the floor in the back of the plane. Here's my lovely picture that I told Michael to take so I could share this with you all because I KNEW this wasn't going to be the end of this story!!
Eventually, after drinking some apple juice and eating a little protein, I was OK. The hardest part was still having 4+ more hours to go before we landed, but I made it. I guess God wanted me to tackle all the hard stuff at once on that plane! But I MADE IT!!! Woooohoooo! Great Victory for God and me, and the devil did not win this round!! (Poor Michael was a bit traumitized over the whole thing...said he just thought, wow, all this and we have to go back!!!)
Then, when we were ready to get off the plane, I stuck my iPhone in my coat pocket and put it over my arm. We got outside and saw the most beautiful scenery and I went to get my phone to take a pic and it was gone! ARGH again!! We couldn't find it anywhere. At that point after everything we'd been through, all that went on the last two weeks or so before we left and the plane trip itself with my health and then losing my iPhone, we both just dropped. I cried and Michael just sagged, both of us feeling a bit defeated. After a few minutes, we both felt the Holy Spirit stir in us and just looked at each other and said NO!! We are not going to let this defeat us! We prayed and gave it ALL over to our Father God, my health, my phone, etc. and just felt it lift!! I looked at Michael and said, "on to our NEW life." It was so sweet. We went on to meet up with my son Chris and his girlfriend Melanie who lives here and had such an awesome reunion! Amazingly, instead of going to our new place and crashing after such an "eventful" plane trip, the rest of the day we spent with Chris & Melanie showing us their favorite beaches and exploring. God is so good! HUGE victories!!!
God has provided us with everything we need to get started here. A beautiful little place (aprox 600 sq ft of little!!) possible job prospects (our landlord is a photographer with a very successful photography business here on the island and is looking to hire a team to help him with his photoshop editing and is interested in hiring me!) ... yes, God is good.
We are going to our first church service here tomorrow and we're excited to meet new people and get connected. We are continuing to just take it day by day and let God totally lead us. For now, we are getting our much needed break and vacation. Michael and I never had a honeymoon and have never gone on a vacation together due to my health and fears of leaving home in the 9 years we've been married. It's time don't you think?? Yep, it's about time!
Thank you for all your prayers to get us here and now we need continued prayers to keep us here! Much loves and hugs!
